10G Fibre optic media converters simply convert the electrical network signals from Cat6e or better cabling used in 10GBASE-T Ethernet local area networks (LAN), to optical signals used in 10Gigabit fibre optic based networks. Optical networks are able to transmit their signals further, faster and are immune to interference from outside sources such as mains electric cables.

This makes media converters perfect for extending LANs further than copper Cat6e cabling alone can manage, ideal in large campus networks, datacentres, enterprise and more.

The Advance 10G SFP+ Media Converter is a standalone, unmanaged converter ideally suited to high speed Ethernet applications. It features a single 10GBase-T RJ45 copper port and an Advance 10Gigabit multimode SFP+ module, featuring a duplex LC connector and capable of driving an optical signal up to 300m using OM3 or better fibre. This converter is ideally specified for a variety of short range fibre optic applications including datacentre and campus projects.

The Advance 10G SFP+ Media Converter has an internal 240V power supply and is supplied with a fused UK mains power cable. The media converters are supplied individually and are bundled with a multimode 10G (850nm, 300m, duplex LC) SFP+ module .
